Dublin born DJ, producer and broadcaster Al Gibbs is one of Ireland’s most established names in dance music, with over 25 years behind the decks and a career that has taken him from Ireland’s biggest festivals to dance floors around the world.
A multi award winning DJ and broadcaster, Al is best known for Freaks, his long-running FM104 radio show, which earned both Gold and Silver IMRO Awards. He has also broadcast on Cork’s 96 and Limerick’s Live 95.
His international career includes tours across the UK, Ibiza, Marbella, the Balearic and Canary Islands, as well as shows in Russia, Australia and the USA. In 2012, Al became a Pacha Resident DJ, touring internationally for the iconic brand between 2013 and 2016.
Al has shared the decks with some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Carl Cox, Frankie Knuckles, Sasha and John Digweed, while supporting artists including Avicii, deadmau5 and Danny Tenaglia.
A regular at major Irish festivals including Electric Picnic, All Together Now, District 8, Forbidden Fruit and Beyond the Pale, Al has also enjoyed success as a producer and songwriter. His releases include multiple Top 10s, including “Balearic Sunrise”, while his music has appeared on Toolroom, Universal, To Be House and Hedkandi.
His Freaks podcast regularly ranks among Ireland’s Top 5 music podcasts.
This summer, Al celebrated 25 years of Freaks with a sold-out show at Malahide Castle Gardens. Now, following phenomenal demand, he’s ready to do it all over again.
